Tucked away in the tiny, idyllic village of Las Rosas (La Gomera) is the traditional farmhouse known as "La Era". Surrounded by terraces of fruit and vegetables, this delightful property rewards visitors with the most breathtaking views of the lush valley, the sea and the “Cepo” mountain opposite. Faithfully restored, this is a highly attractive house which is well-maintained both inside and out.
The beautiful white walls with their moulded natural stone detail and rich, honey-coloured wood – including on the open gable – are typical of the style of building found here on La Gomera. The “La Era” country house provides cosy, welcoming accommodation for up to 4 people. It has a comfortable lounge with stereo and TV and two bedrooms, each with two single beds and a large wardrobe containing blankets and bed linen. The large picture window in the attractively decorated dining room affords extensive views over the whole valley and is a great place to sit and simply while away the time.
A fully-equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a washing-machine complete the excellent facilities in your holiday home. At the end of a hard day out walking, what could be better than to relax on the terrace as you watch the sun set behind the mountains, the smell of your supper wafting across from the barbecue? The Garajonay National Park is within easy reach and is well worth taking the time to explore. The Juego de Bolsas visitor centre provides detailed information about the origins and history of the island and, adjoining the centre, you will find several small craft workshops. Also highly recommended is a visit to the sleepy, idyllic village of Agulo. With its colonial-style buildings and narrow, winding streets, this is one of the best-preserved villages in the whole of La Gomera.
